Robbie loves pocket money but he hates tidying his room, and Mum has had enough of all the mess.

Could a Clean-O-Matic 3000 robot be just the thing that Robbie needs?

About the Book

This is a short story (about 250 words) for children that are just starting to enjoy reading for themselves or with someone else. I had lot's of fun writing it and I hope you enjoy reading it too.

Where did you get the idea for Robbie's Robot? When I was little I hated having to tidy my bedroom. I used to try and squash all of my toys into my cupboard and close the door. Then I would cross my fingers and hope that Mum wouldn't open the cupboard door and see all the mess inside.

I remember thinking that if I had a robot it could do all of the work for me. But robots can be very clever and I'm not sure if they would want to do all of the tidying up either... Would you?

Did you draw the pictures? No I'm not very good at drawing but as an author I am very lucky because I get to work with some amazing illustrators.

The illustrations for Robbie's Robot have been done by an excellent illustrator called Rory Walker. All of the pictures on this page have been done by Rory too. I love his fun, quirky style and can't wait to work with him again. He has done a great job of bringing Robbie, his family, and the Clean-O-Matic 3000 robot to life... and just look at all the mess in Robbie's room.
