Razorbites...
No, that doesn't mean that I'm having trouble shaving - Razorbites is the title of book 3 in my Robo-Runners series. The book doesn't come out until June 19th but today I received a brand new hardback copy of the book through the post, and I must say... it looks fantastic.
CBeebies
Those wonderful people at Orchard Books told me some time ago that Snap, the little crocodile was going to be making a guest appearance in the CBeebies Weekly Magazine and I can now tell you that he has appeared in the weeks edition. There's a full double page picture showing Snap, his Mum, his brothers and sisters and lots of the other animals that appear in the story. I also received a letter to say that Snap is going to be published in Korea - HURRAH! Yesterday morning I went to visit Revoe Primary School in Blackpool where I said hello to a few people, did a loud assembly with a couple of stories and poems and then visited the early years groups with sure-start. Hopefully I'll be going back to the school later in the year to do some bigger sessions.
Catching Up
Over the last few weeks I’ve been busy catching up on some writing and a few other bits and pieces so haven’t found the time to write anything in my diary.
I’ve visited one wonderful school – Coppull Parish – in Coppull, near Chorley in Lancashire. I spent the whole day with the wonderful folk in year six HURRAH. This week they (and lots of other year sixes around the country) have been busy doing their SATS – BOOO!. It was so good visiting the school that I will be going back there in a couple of weeks to see everyone else.
Apart from that, I’ve been busy putting the finishing touches to a few new picture books stories and thinking of ideas for some more new ones that I’ll be working on later.
I’ve been checking rough artwork for Robo-Runners book 5 – The Ghost Sea – and I must say that the wonderful Mark Oliver has done another fantastic job. Even his rough artwork is fantastically detailed and it seems rather rude to call it rough – but amazingly he manages to make his finished artwork even better.
Later this week I’m popping in to Revoe Primary School in Blackpool for a little while and also talking to a Women’s Institute group – I hope they don’t get to rowdy.
